With the generous support of the Williams Lake Community Forest the Williams Lake and District 4H Society was able to purchase a large event tent. The tent was primarily used to provide a safe covered space for our members to show their projects at the annual show and sale event at the Williams Lake stockyards. The tent exceeded our expectations as it created an exceptional space for both our 4H members and members of the community viewing the show.
The tent was used in combination with other event tents to expand the overall covered space, further enhancing and increasing flexibility for our week-long event.  The project was on budget, went as planned and we did not run into any barriers.  We were anticipating some
challenges with set up and take down having never done it before and we were pleasantly surprised with how simple this task was. The tent that was selected resulted in our ability to reduce some estimated costs for materials such as steel plates and extension sleeve poles as the tent had the ability to be secured to the ground and was of sufficient height for our show.   Our volunteer committee was efficiently able to set up the tent, enabling the expanded use to other various 4H functions such as judging rallies held at other locations throughout the year. We would highly recommend these tents for anyone hosting large outdoor events!
A tremendous amount of people benefited from this project; not only the 4H members but the hundreds of parents, grandparents, friends, family and public that attended the 4H show and sale.  We are planning to purchase a second tent to continue to expand our outdoor covered area to further protect members from the weather and enhance our show and sale experience for the public, further promoting the Williams Lake region.
These tents will provide long term flexibility for use at a range of sites and events, in addition to the annual show and sale, further providing benefits to the 4H community.

We are extremely pleased with the generous support the WLCF has demonstrated towards the Williams Lake and District 4H Society, and we look forward to continuing to take on projects that benefit our community.
Thank you!!
