StoryWalks promote early literacy, physical activity, and family time together in nature.
A StoryWalk is an outdoor, self-guided activity where individual pages of a children’s book are posted in sequence along a path, such as in a park or along a trail.
There are 3 StoryWalks in Williams Lake: Kiwanis Park, Scout Island, and the Williams Lake Community Forest’s Flatrock Block by Esler. There’s also a StoryWalk in Horsefly at the Horsefly River Park.
The StoryWalks at Flatrock and Horsefly are seasonal. CCPL also has portable StoryWalks at community events.
Here are some of the new StoryWalks built that were on display at Flatrock in 2025, thanks to a Williams Lake Community Forest Grant.
