Williams Lake Community Forest has provided funding to support Gavin Lake Forest Education Society’s free school programs since 2020.
The camp is all inclusive for teachers and their grade 6 students – instructors, accommodation, and food is all organized by Gavin Lake and provided free. The camp activities and buildings are all accessible and can easily accommodate all students’ abilities.
This season, the Gavin Lake Grade 6 Fall Program is celebrating 30 years. Th
e program is fully booked with 21 classes from school districts #27, #28, and #74.
We expect to host nearly 600 people! Students will have the chance to try archery, canoeing, hiking, compass navigation, and do hands-on science education with trout habitat, species at risk, and forest fire management.
