The Big Lake Community Hall is for public use and is situated along the shores of Big Lake. The Hall is central to the community’s recreational, cultural and economic life; it hosts children’s groups, fairs, school events, weddings, sports, business meetings, celebrations of life, and so much more. The community hall is heated by wood burning furnace, as is traditional to the area and a part of the local heritage. Storage and seasoning of firewood is essential to ongoing operations of the hall and the health of it’s wood burning furnace. A beautiful and substantial timber frame woodshed has now been built beside the hall and as a result of an October community wood working bee, the woodshed is now full for the year’s fuel needs. Thank you the HD Zimmermann, Echofar Enterprises, Williams Lake Community Forest, and the wonderful Big Lake volunteers, for this exceptional addition to the community of Big Lake!
