My name is Kaitlyn Brown and I want to thank you for choosing my for the Community Forest Youth Award of 2025.
I am going to TRU in Kamloops in September 2025 and am excited to start a degree in General Science and potentially Animal Biology.
I have been in Williams lake rep minor hockey for nine years and have been the goalie for the female Timberwolves for eight years as well as been a part of my school’s Tour and Concert band for six years as a percussionist.
I’ve always enjoyed spending my time outdoors, whether it’s camping, hiking waterfalls, or working outside. I’ve worked with Sugar Cane archaeology in the past as well as started my own summer weeding business where I helped weed the gardens of the elderly around town.
I love giving back to my community by helping young girls discover their love for hockey or volunteering for outdoor programs within school to go out in the community and learn about how fires affect the forests around us and other Gavin lake trips to learn about fisheries and how to keep rivers and lakes clean and healthy.
Thank you again for choosing me.
